The ‘Embedding Employability in the Curriculum Project’ is currently offering a three-year full-time PhD scholarship of interest for honours and masters students currently in the fields of Education, Management and Psychology. The scholarship offers full fees payment across three years of full-time PhD study and paid teaching assistance duties up to two days a week. It will commence early in 2017.

The ‘Embedding Employability in the Curriculum Project’ is a collaborative effort between the University of Auckland, University of Otago and the New Zealand Association of Graduate Employers. It aims to discover and disseminate pedagogies for embedding employability capabilities in advanced and research informed curricula. The project has the following objectives:
- build understanding of effective curriculum based and co-curricula pedagogies for developing and evidencing employability attributes
- build understanding of the mechanisms and assessment techniques for incorporating and recognising co-curricula, life and employment experiences within degree programmes
- trial and evaluate effective practices across settings
- build and disseminate a guiding framework and tools for lecturers, programme designers and leaders in learning and teaching

Supervised by Professor Susan Geertshuis in the University of Auckland, the successful scholarship candidate will complete a full-time doctoral project as part of the main research project. They will have the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of research including qualitative data collection, analysisand reporting.
